Pro tip for visiting these two NYC destinations: don’t do it on a Saturday mid-afternoon in early July.

While this seemed like a must do, bucket list tourist visit, it ended up feeling like way more time was spent standing in line to get on and off the ferry than being able to enjoy the two spots. Ellis Island in particular has a ton of what appeared to be great historical content, but by the time we got there we were hot, sweaty, and exhausted. We made a quick lap of the main building and called it an excursion.

Maybe on a rainy Wednesday in mid January is the time to just hit one destination and be able to do it justice.
